Potholes. Nobody loves ’em but they are everywhere. And I mean everywhere! You can’t go a mile in Glasgow without encountering a crater destined to rattle your car to bits. bad weather has a lot to answer for but, to me, it just seems the roads weren’t up to much to begin with. You hear horror stories of people bucking their wheels and braking springs in their suspension all the time, but who’s to blame? Would the council pay out if you made a claim? What’s more likely is that the a van would drop round the next day, fill the hole with a mix of candy floss and rubber and claim the problem was fixed. Sure, the Scottish Government
is giving an extra £15 million to cover ‘additional costs’, but really that’s not that much considering the how many holes there are, how many roads and how long winter will last.
The new bumper sticker doing the rounds sums it up perfectly ‘I’m not drunk, I’m just avoiding the potholes’!.
